Main Uses
Mainly used in ABS resin, SBR, NBR, M-HIPS products, in the polymerization process as molecular weight regulator, can also be used as polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene and other polyolefin stabilizers and antioxidants, but also can be used to synthesize some drugs, pesticides, fungicides, spices raw materials.
Tert-dodecyl mercaptan (TDDM) as a molecular weight regulator is mainly used in the production of ABS and SBR. At present, the domestic production capacity of ABS is 1 million tons/year, the production capacity of SBR is 500,000 tons/year, and the demand of TDDM is 5000 tons/year. Almost all of them depend on import, and the price remains high.
Requirements for use, storage and transportation
This product has strong reducibility. Wear labor protection when using. Operate in a fume hood. Do not leak during storage. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse with non-combustible material structure. A small amount of products can be stored at low temperature. Keep away from heat source and open fire, especially direct sunlight. Store and transport in isolation from oxidants, combustibles and strong acids.
